Jason Friedman was a financial advisor before becoming a tech startup founder. He founded AdvisorFinder, an online marketplace that makes it easier to find a financial advisor. A comprehensive database of qualified professionals, AdvisorFinder has become a go-to resource for individuals and businesses seeking expert financial guidance.
By leveraging the power of technology, Friedman and his team are revolutionizing the way people connect with financial advisors and plan for their futures.
Jason grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Having gone out of state for school and working in Nashville for over a year after college, Jason decided to move back to Virginia Beach. It's a beautiful place to be! Jason enjoys traveling, reading, playing pickleball with his girlfriend and going out with friends. A true foodie, Jason is always seeking out a new restaurant experience (especially some great sushi 🍣🐟).
During college, Jason had the opportunity to intern with UBS Wealth Management in Norfolk, Virginia over a summer between school years. This was a pivotal experience for Jason, as it was his first real world experience working as part of a team at a top wealth management firm and financial institution. After graduating from college in 2019 with a degree in finance and risk management, Jason started as a Wealth and Investment Management Analyst at Wells Fargo Advisors in Nashville, Tennessee. After his time in Nashville, Jason decided to begin working with Merrill Lynch Private Wealth in Virginia Beach, where he was a Private Wealth Financial Advisor for ultra high net worth clients. He was specifically focused on client retention, business development, and next generation client engagement.
In his role with Merrill Lynch, he couldn't help but notice patterns in his conversations with clients and prospective clients: choosing a financial advisor is a daunting process. Jason discovered that most people didn't seem to understand what financial advisors actually do and how much they cost. This led Jason to discover the idea for AdvisorFinder. He began pursuing the concept in June 2022 with a world-class team.
Jason Friedman graduated from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Risk Management. Since a young age, he always had a penchant for the overlap between finance and technology. Learning doesn't stop once you graduate. Jason is a lifelong student.
