I grew up on a farm in South Africa and was as fluent in Zulu as my home language, English, during my childhood. After graduating with a law degree and spending several years working for a bank, I formed my own law firm which specialized in banking law.
Lyn (my wife of nearly 50 years) and I also led a large multicultural church in South Africa. We remain active in global church life through our involvement with Church of The Nations. We have two sons and three grandchildren who bring great joy into our lives. Together, we immigrated to the USA in 1996, soon after which I began my career in wealth management.
Lyn and I enjoy hiking in interesting places. We have walked the entire length of the 500-mile Camino de Santiago in Spain. It was an amazing experience that allowed us to meet people of various ages and backgrounds from around the world.
I have a passion for boating. Lyn and I previously owned a 36-foot powerboat on which we cruised the intracoastal waterway along the East Coast from Annapolis to Fort Myers and back. We plan to attempt the Great Loop cruise in the not-too-distant future.
