I began my career in financial services in 1998 after spending a decade working in a closely held family business. During that time, I realized I wanted a career where I could make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. Becoming a financial advisor has allowed me to do just that. Now more than ever, I understand the critical role an advisor plays in shaping a client’s financial future.
Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with individuals employed by contractors of Department of Energy (DOE) facilities across the United States, as well as federal employees of the DOE in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and beyond. Additionally, through strong relationships with local attorneys and CPAs, I have helped clients navigate financial transitions such as divorce and managing large inheritances.
I am passionate about guiding clients toward sound investment and financial planning decisions, ensuring they take advantage of opportunities beyond just investment returns. Many investors overlook the impact of strategic tax planning, which is why I focus on strategies such as Roth IRA conversions, Qualified Charitable Distributions from IRA accounts, and the optimal timing of Social Security benefits and income distributions.
For the past 14 years, I have been an active participant in the Ed Slott Elite IRA Advisor Program, attending biannual meetings to stay at the forefront of tax law changes affecting IRAs and other tax-qualified investments. As part of this program, I must pass two annual exams to maintain my expertise in IRA regulations.
Outside of work, I am passionate about golf and enjoy competing in local, state, and national senior amateur tournaments. I also appreciate spending time outdoors and engaging in a variety of recreational activities. When I’m not working with clients or refining my golf game, I cherish time with family and friends, creating lasting memories both on and off the course.
